Marion Technical College Nursing Program

I am over-the-moon, ridiculously excited. I found out that I had actually passed my STNA test and I am now a full-fledged nurse aide in the state of Ohio. This was the last requirement for my nursing program. This is my last week of work at my current employer and I start Autumn semester on August 25, 2014, as a real life nursing student!

I go to Marion Technical College. I love it here. The reason I chose MTC was the impressive pass rates of prior students who have conquered the NCLEX, the admissions counselor I had initially spoken to and the beautiful Health Technology Center that was built in 2011. The campus overall is breathtaking.

In 2012, MTC’s pass rate for the NCLEX was 97%!

Also, meeting the admission’s staff was a shocking experience, in a good way. The person I had spoken to in admissions seemed to genuinely care about my education. She calmed my nerves about switching from another school and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in answering my millions of questions.

The faculty and students keep me here. We have small class sizes and the teachers are excited about what they are teaching.

I started at Marion Tech in Autumn 2013. I applied for the nursing program in December 2013 and received my acceptance letter in February 2014. I personally was not expecting acceptance so quickly.

I’m really looking forward to all of the choices I have in the future. MTC currently works with The Ohio State University Marion and Ohio University for students to transfer and get their BSN and also Otterbein College for students to advance on to their MSN.

What were the deciding factors for you when choosing a nursing program/school? Was there a wait-list? If so, how long was it?
